We are very proud of our players who performed in the national team during the 2021 season

HARISH SRINIVASAN August - Tri-Nations T20I Series in Krefeld

It was the first ever men's international T20 tournament played on German soil - thanks to the new performance centre this was finally possible. The opponents were France and Norway and the German National Team won the trophy. Our main wicketkeeper Harish was involved in several run outs, managed brilliant stumpings and catches. The commentators were full of praise: O-tones: "The anticipation there from Harish was absolutely fantastic. That wicket really was a great catch / That stumping would have made Dhoni proud" A nice addition: the fielder to the run out and the bowler for the catch was ex-SCVian Sri Vishnu.

September - Desert Springs, Spain

Harish took part in a training camp and the 3 T20s against Spain in which he took 2 catches and a stumping despite having just recovered from an illness. And with his support as batsman the team almost managed to turn around the last match which had been clearly given away before. In the end, however, Germany lost the tournament 2-1.

SHAHIR MALIKZAI September - Dream 11 European Championship in Malaga

A worldwide recognized appearance by SCV´s opening bowler Shahir: his bowling action was compared to famous Jasprit Bumrah´s not only by the commentators. We saw a wicket and 1 catch in the match against Czech Republic after Shahir already stood out positively in the previous matches. Unfortunately, he had to withdraw later due to a - as it turned out - protracted injury.

RAJESH KUMAR CHINNASAMY September - Dream 11 European Championship in Malaga

As well an excellent performance by our spin bowler and Rider´s Vice cap, Rajesh Kumar. He took back to back wickets and his score of 3 wkts in 2 overs for just 7 runs given plus an important catch was certainly one of the highlights in the match against Czech Republic.

November - MCC Spirit of Cricket Tournament in Malaga

For this tournament the German National Team was invited by the famous Marylebone Cricket Club and became champion by winning all the 4 matches: 2 matches each against Italy and MCC. After receiving his official national team cap from head coach Steven Knox, Rajesh played an important role in the 3rd match against MCC, in which Germany defended a target of 103. In this match, he took 3 wickets, gave just 14 runs in his 4 overs and was adjudged Man of the Match for his performance.
